In, March 2013, a panel of judges will selected 12 finalists, six in the youth division (17 & under) and six in the adult division (18 & over). These finalists will prepare for the possibility of the performance of a lifetime. On Saturday, September 14, 2013, 12 finalists will perform at the La Porte Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge Street, La Porte, Indiana.

The Hoosier STAR Orchestra will accompany the selected finalists. This group is a quality group of musicians that are assembled by Maestro Phil Bauman, the innovative music director and conductor of the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra. It promises to be a program that is entertaining and full of surprises. Dreams are fulfilled as quality prevails in this exciting competition where all types of musical performances are possible.
The titled winners of the September competition win prize money, but it doesn’t come easy, as an interesting twist to this competition is that the audience in attendance at the September 14 performance votes to determine the winners. The top finishers in the Adult Division will receive cash awards of $1,000 for first place and $500 for second place. The top winners in the Youth Division will receive cash awards of $500 for first place and $250 for second place.
